HoopStats Basketball Scoring App Reviews

Havent used it since the last update so I dont know if it is hoop stats or ios7 but i have constant crashes when i change rosters or delete games or players.

Use it the last 3 seasons Need 2nd Chance Points and Points of TO, Starting Five

Crashes on iPad everytime while trying to create a new game.

I used to keep stats for my sons basketball team on my Palm device, so I was excited to try the apps available for my iPhone when I upgraded. I used this app all last year and love the autocomplete feature. Now another parent on the team is using it, too! This is the only app Ive found that is better than what we used for years on the Palm.

Tried other programs and was annoyed at having to pay every year to keep stats. This app has worked excellently and having the Twitter feed is great for keeping parents informed when we go on road trips and tournaments.

I have been using this app for the past 2 season after trying many other one. I like the ipad version, it is simple to use and provide all the vital statistics I need. Would to see more built in reports such as the ability to compare game stats again same team, layers progression, etc. Overall a great app for basketball stats.

As a coach you want to remind your team what you are doing on the floor good or bad. This app let you show them where the shots are coming from and if the results are normal. Just say your team is getting the shots from where you want but they are not executing, you can use it as a positive." We are getting the shots from the areas we want now lets make them like we can" The only thing I dont like is that there is not a start stop button for the clock. One other thing I really like is Im using the ipad 1 and it works great.

When I turn the twitter scoring or all on and go to score the game it kicks me out of the app. If its off it will let me score. Would like to tweet my sons games for parents who cant attend. I am signed into twitter as well.

I dont have a put back button....also needs some kind of efficiency rating that measures productive play against the unproductive....otherwise great app...easy to use....email makes it a snap! Thanks

Love this app, but can barely see the scores? Is this a glitch, or can you change the color of the scores on the jerseys? The score shows up top on the jerseys for each team but I can barely see the score! Score numbers should be in color but mine are translucent?

Wish I could delete mistakes during the game.

I have been in contact with people who make this app. I asked for an added feature and it appeared in the most recent update. No other app will do that. This app is amazing. I am a student manager for my high schools basketball team. I introduced this program to my hc at the beginning of the season. And tech savvy as he was, he didnt trust this thing one bit. But he allowed us to do it for a few games and he fell in love with it. I love it as well. It beats the heck out of pencil and paper. He uses the app to keep track of all of the stats and loves the availability of the stats in the middle of the game. Whether it is keeping track of players fouls or who to foul on the other team based on their free throw percentage. He implements shot charts from teams we have played previously in scouting reports. He also keeps track of playing time. This app is awesome and as I use it more I continue to fall in love with it. But, it would be nice to see the starters in the substitution screen for halftime and also for the scouting reports. Thanks a bunch. Highly recommend the app

Is there any way to send individual player stats to your email & print off?

The developers update the ap frequently enough.... and each one makes it better and better. Its super easy to use overall, once you get the hang of it. I do have a few recommendations... 1) Include "second chance points" as a stat option. Its an extremely valuable stat. 2) include "points off turnovers" 3) In "stat view" mode, have the option to view stats by quarter, half or full game within the ap itself (and have it adjust automatically for college, meaning quarters wouldnt be an option). It currently has this feature, but only if you export the stat file to your e-mail. Having it in-ap would make it much quicker and easier to view the stats overall. Otherwise, great ap! Keep up the great work and keep the updates coming!

It takes practice to use, but the end result are great analytics to share with your son or daughter and their team.

This app is second to none. I read some of the other reviews and I dont understand where they are coming from. Yes, you can undo mistakes if you score it wrong. The numbers on the jerseys are the player number and the total number of fouls, not how many point they scored.. You can quickly see the point breakdown by clicking the stats button, even in the middle of the game. You can even go in and edit each play by play if you need to, but you usually dont have enough time during the game. I add notes to the plays during time outs and half time... Anyway, after about 2 games, I was hooked and it became very easy to use. I use my son to help spot and call out the action so I can score it, but that is because Im an old man trying to use an ipad app;). I only score one side of the game, making the other teams with no players. It is hard enough keeping track of my players. Definitely learn how to import the rosters! Make team set up go much faster. You can download the manual from their web page (slow DL thought). And you can transfer games, and player and team info between ipad and iPhone. Sometimes I forget my ipad and I can score it on my iphone and then transfer it to the ipad (Bluetooth). The other parents love the emails with the stats and shot chart! Awesome!

App is great. Absolutely love it. Only 1 problem. No support for triple digit #s. I was doing a camp and had triple digits couldnt use it. Maybe a update for it would be great :) love app besides that.

Great scoring app. Very easy to use and great stat output capabilities. I have been using it for 4 years now, tracking both my daughters teams play. I only score one team on the court and track just made points for the opponent. Tracking both teams stats is difficult no matter what app you use. Ive seen other teams use other apps and when I show them this one, they all seem to like it better. Only change that I would like to see in a future update would be to have ability to see all ten players on the screen at same time including bench players, where you can make substitutions without opening another window (like drop & drag from court to bench, etc). Additionally, would be good to have ability to output stats by tournament instead of just by game or by season.
